Abstract


  • This survey is held to accurately examine the impact of productive zakat program from BAZNAS to the mustahiq. It uses CIBEST model which covers both material and spiritual aspects.

  • CIBEST model is divided into four quadrants, namely: welfare index, material poverty index, spiritual poverty index, and absolute poverty index.

  • This survey was conducted on October until November 2016 in thirteen (13) regions in Indonesia: West Java (Sukabumi, Sumedang, West Bandung), DI Yogyakarta (Bantul), Bali (Tabanan), East Java (Gresik), Central Java (Semarang), Nangroe Aceh Darussalam, West Nusa Tenggara, East Kalimantan (East Kutai), Gorontalo, West Sumatera (Sijunjung) and Riau (Siak).

  • In Sukabumi Regency, the welfare index increased by thirteen percent, while the material, spiritual, and absolute poverty index decreased by -1 percent, -11 percent, and -3 percent, respectively.

  • In Nangroe Aceh Darussalam, the welfare index increased by four percent, while the material and spiritual poverty index decreased by -4 percent and -1 percent, respectively. The absolute poverty index remained unchanged.

  • In Gresik Regency, the welfare index did not changed (zero percent), while the material poverty index increased by one percent. However, both spiritual and absolute poverty index decreased by -1 percent.

  • In Sumedang Regency, the welfare index increased by one percent, while the material poverty index decreased by -1 percent. Both spiritual and absolute poverty index remained unchanged (zero percent).

  • In Central Java, the welfare and material poverty index increased by thirteen percent and 52 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the spiritual and absolute poverty index decreased by -8 percent and -57 percent, respectively.

  • In Tabanan Regency, the welfare index increased by two percent, while the material poverty index decreased by -2 percent. Both spiritual and absolute poverty index remained unchanged (zero percent).

  • In Bantul Regency, the welfare index increased by fourteen percent, while the material, spiritual, and absolute poverty index decreased by -4 percent, -6 percent, and -5 percent, respectively.

  • In West Bandung, the welfare index increased by twelve percent, while the material poverty index decreased by -12 percent. Both spiritual and absolute poverty index remained unchanged (zero percent).

  • In West Nusa Tenggara, the welfare index increased by six percent, while the material and spiritual poverty index decreased by -5 percent and -1 percent, respectively. The absolute poverty index remained unchanged.

  • In East Kutai, the welfare index increased by nineteen percent, while the material and spiritual poverty index decreased by -17 percent and -1 percent, respectively. The absolute poverty index remained unchanged.

  • In Sijunjung Regency, the welfare index increased by 26 percent, while the material, spiritual, and absolute poverty index decreased by -16 percent, -5 percent, and -5 percent, respectively.

  • In Gorontalo, the welfare index increased by two percent, while the spiritual poverty index decreased by -2 percent, followed by the material and absolute poverty index which remained unchanged (zero percent).

  • In Siak Regency, the welfare index increased by ten percent, while the material poverty index decreased by -10 percent. Both spiritual and absolute poverty index remained unchanged (zero percent).

  • The positive changes of mustahiq condition were achieved through this productive zakat program in almost all survey regions.
