PROFILE OF ZAKAT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BENEFICIARIES GORONTALO PROVINCE

Abstract

• BAZNAS Gorontalo District disburses the zakat productive through Zakat Community Development (ZCD) program by capital assistance and tools for the mustahik.


• 54 percent of ZCD in Gorontalo beneficiaries are males and most of them are husbands. Whereas, the females who join the program are less than one-tenth, where most of them, that is 44 of 46 beneficiaries, are wives.


• 140 of 151 beneficiaries are in productive age, while the rest are the elderly people whose age are over 64 years.


• 51 percent of the beneficiaries are those who still have spouses, while the other 24.49 percent are single parents.


• The beneficiaries of ZCD in Gorontalo are varied in terms of educational background.


• 64 of 151 beneficiaries work as sellers, while 9 people work in agriculture. The other 59 beneficiaries do other jobs.


• 20 percent of beneficiaries have one to four members in the family, 26.49 percent of beneficiaries have five to seven members in the family, while only 3.31 percent beneficiaries which have more than seven members in the family.


• 41 percent of beneficiaries have a household income ranged between Rp 2 million – Rp 5 million, 34.44 percent have income between Rp 5 million – Rp 10 million, 15.89 percent have income below Rp 2 million, and 11.26 percent have income above Rp 10 million.


• 36 percent of the beneficiaries have household expenditure between Rp 0 – Rp 1 million per month.


• The highest expenditure is the daily consumption which reached 22.85 percent of total household expenditure. The third lowest expenditures are electricity and water, clothes, and communication which only reached 2.58 percent and 2.07 percent, and 1.26 percent, respectively. There are no expenditure for entertainment and others.
