BAZNAS Disbursement Channel: Its Origin, Derivative and Application in the Sustainable Development Gaols (SDGs)

Abstract

The National Zakat Board (BAZNAS) defines economics of zakat as the awareness to build a new economic order to achieve happiness, life balances and the ultimate human maturity stand on the spirit and noble values of shari'a zakat which expressed in the spirit of Islamic piety, productive, economic justice and the embodies of Islamic philanthropy. BAZNAS based on Law 23/2011 emphasizes economic and management focusing on the zakat sustainability and responsibility in Indonesia. In year 2016, the amount of zakat disbursement nationally reaching Rp. 2.7 trillion with the number of beneficiaries as much as 6.8 million. This conceptual paper attempts to analyze the part of BAZNAS disbursement from At-Taubah: 60 perspective, paradigm and its derivatives with implementing SDGs initiatives. It shown exhibit comprehensively to support the poverty alleviation in the SDGs goals, principally goal 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 11.
