PROFILE OF ZAKAT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (ZCD) BENEFICIARIES IN ACEH PROVINCE

Abstract

• The productive use of zakat fund in Aceh Province is done within the Zakat Community Development (ZCD) program to build and develop MSMEs run by mustahik and to provide venture capital to the farmer groups in the target village of BAZNAS which is projected to be a pilot farming village.


• 74.25 percent of ZCD in Aceh beneficiaries are males and most of them are husbands. Whereas, the females who join the program are about one-fourth, where most of them, that is 90 of 103 beneficiaries, are wives.


• 377 of 400 beneficiaries are in productive age, while the rest are the elderly people whose age are over 64 years.


• More than eighty percent of the beneficiaries are those who have spouses, while the other 16.5 percent are single parents. 2.5 percent beneficiaries are those who have not married.


• The beneficiaries of ZCD in Aceh are varied in terms of educational background.


• 196 of 400 beneficiaries work as sellers, while the other 73 people work in agriculture. The other 99 beneficiaries do other jobs.


• 62.75 percent of beneficiaries have one to four members in the family while only 36.50 percent beneficiaries which have more than seven members in the family and less than 1 percent of beneficiaries have more than seven members.


• The proportions of beneficiaries who have a household income ranged below Rp 2 million, between Rp 2 million – Rp 5 million, between Rp 5 million – Rp 10 million, and above Rp 10 million are 2, 39.75, 27.50, and 30.75 percent respectively.


• The highest number of household expenditure is ranged between Rp 1.000.001 - Rp 2.000.000 (143 people or 35.75 percent). While the lowest number is ranged between Rp 0 – Rp 1.000.000 (15 people or 3.75 percent).


• The highest expenditure is the daily consumption which reached 43.30 percent of total household expenditure, while the third lowest expenditures are medical consultation, entertainment, and others which even reached 0 percent, 0 percent, and 0.04 percent, respectively.
